On world cancer day, I want to remember this incredible human being who shared her life with me.
Heidi Lynne Pokras Saltalamacchia
I'm still not able to write in detail about much of my experience with her, except in poetry, and the occasional appearance in the comments sections here, but in her honor today, and in solidarity with so many others, I want to share this video in the link below.
She is in her chemo "suite" during Covid in November 2020, posting a video birthday message to a dear friend of ours, who was also a cancer patient, and their birthdays were a couple weeks apart.
Two powerful Scorpio women, who I still miss very much.
My wife was almost 2 years into her 4 1/2 year cancer journey and her normal mane of dark wavy hair came in all curly as you see here, after a mandatory break from chemo because of an extended recover recovery from one of her surgeries.
Thank you for sharing this precious moment with us. Grief is the sign that we have loved deeply. I’m very sorry for your loss.
Thank you for sharing this with us, in solidarity of all our experiences, John. My heart goes out to you. The beauty of her spirit and warmth shines through the screen. No big words, just thanks and hugs.
